Xuefei and Chao celebrated their special day with a dreamy Asian countryside wedding at Domaine de la Tortiniere! On a beautiful sunny day in May, I shot this wedding for this lovely couple. Domaine de la Tortieniere is 5 minutes drive from Tours. Tours is known as the “Garden of France (“Le Jardin de la France”) because of the many parks located within the city. And did you know that the purest french has been spoken exactly in Tours?
With the help of planner “Iris Wedding Paris” the castle and ceremony location were transformed into an elegant and luxurious space–with a lot of purple and white flower arrangements. The outdoor wedding ceremony was held under the 100-year-old trees next to the castle. The dreamy ceremony was accompanied by the most beautiful sounds of the violin that so perfectly fit the romantic vibe of the day. As a big surprise for me came the wedding cake decoration which I found a really cool thing to do. The reason was that the bride herself owned a pastry shop in China, so she wanted the cake to be decorated her way.
A Dreamy Asian Countryside wedding
As this was a mix of a western and Chinese traditional wedding the wedding also included a Chinese tea ceremony. If you want to read more about Chinese wedding traditions please check my previous blog post.
After the Tea Ceremony, the wedding took a twist – we all got on the busses and went to another wedding venue, just across the valley – Chateau d’Artigny. You’ve seen Chateau d’Artigny in my recommended wedding venues in France list. This is where the reception and party took place, so don’t be surprised when you see another chateau once you scroll down.
I welcome couples of all cultures. If you’re planning on getting married anywhere in the world, I’d be happy to shoot your wedding – be it a Chinese, Malaysian, Arab, or whatever kind of wedding. I celebrate cultural diversity and am happy to take photos of that. So, if you’re plannig your wedding and looking for a photographer – be sure to get in touch!
Please enjoy! And stay tuned for my next blog posts. Yes, there is an upside of covid – I have time to share all of my weddings taken over the time.
Domaine de la Tortiniere – a small and cosy wedding venue
I can just wonder what he’s writing there.
I usually take this photo – helps me remember the date of the wedding.
Love this moment, I believe I nailed it.
