To get married in Scotland you need two things – weatherproof clothes and good humor. Good humor is what Jade and Louis had on their marvelous wedding in Scotland, which took place in a small town called St. Andrews.
Wedding in Scotland
Some say that Scotland is the best view of the United Kingdom. I have to agree on this one. I fell in love with the Scottish landscape as soon as I first saw it 10 years ago while shooting Barabara and Keith’s wedding in Scotland (have a look at it on my old blog here). Whenever I get a booking in Scotland I get overly excited. There’s something very special in those Scottish Highlands.
I don’t understand why people are saying that the weather in Scotland is terrible. Whenever I have a wedding there, it’s always sunny (apart of a few times). I usually end up with wedding photographs filled with sunshine. Sometimes it comes from the sun, other times from people’s hearts. This time I was there in July and got quite lucky, the weather was amazing and the couple was shining from inside out.
Jade and Louis were amazing. This couple was a rare find. A perfect mix of love and humanity. I could feel their love for each other from a long distance. I came back home from their wedding full of good energy and a big smile on my face. And Oh boy!!! That beautiful coast-line and old lighthouse in combination with perfect afternoon sun, what else can a wedding photographer in Scotland wish for?

Louis and Jade’s wedding ceremony was held in All Saints’ Church at St. Andrews which is an active Episcopal Church. The ceremony was 15 min long, not too bad right?! Then we headed to Ruby bay to do some wedding photographs. This place was stunning. Although the day was surprisingly warm and sunny, seaside got some serious wind blowing. Jade and Louis had a lot of fun resisting it. The wedding gown fluttered like a ship sailing during a storm. Jade was a very smart bride. She came prepared for those rocks on the shore. Jade quickly put on her white bridal sneakers just right before photoshoot. And she was ready for almost everything.
Wedding reception took place in a lovely wedding venue in Scotland. Kilconquhar Castle Estate is a family holiday resort located in the East Neuk of Fife. This wedding venue welcomes both small and big weddings from 2 to 150 guests. My bride and groom has chosen to have a rather short list of guests. Only the closest family members which made their wedding intimate and filled with lots of love.
