Getting ready at Château de Mairy
The day begins inside Château de Mairy, where the rooms, mirrors and old interiors become part of the preparation photographs rather than just a backdrop.
I photographed the preparations as they happened, moving between the two sides of the wedding and keeping the small details, family interactions and quieter moments in the same visual story.
02
The ceremony in the château garden
The first ceremony took place outside at the château. Guests gathered in the garden with the house behind them, giving the ceremony a strong sense of place without needing to over-stage the photographs.
Afterwards the celebration moved naturally into congratulations, group photographs and the beginning of the afternoon reception.
03
Portraits around Château de Mairy
Château de Mairy gives very different portrait possibilities within a small area: the pale stone façade, gates, tree-lined grounds, interior rooms and the open lawn.
We kept the portrait time short and used the light that was already there. The result is a mixture of relaxed photographs, wider château views and quieter frames of the couple.
04
Cocktails, details and the evening light
The afternoon continued with cocktails, table details and guests around the grounds. These smaller photographs are important because they connect the formal parts of the day and show how the wedding actually felt.
As the light changed, the château and marquee became part of the evening atmosphere rather than simply venue photographs.
05
A Nigerian celebration after dark
Later the wedding changed character again for a Nigerian celebration. Traditional clothing, family and movement brought a completely different energy to the evening.
Keeping this part of the day in the same gallery matters: it is not a separate styled section, but part of the complete wedding story at Château de Mairy.

How I would plan the photography here
The most useful photography plan for Châlons-en-Champagne · France protects the real flow of the celebration first. Portraits are kept short and placed where the light and movement already make sense.
For destination weddings, I also look at travel between venues, access, the ceremony direction, indoor alternatives and whether a second photographer would make the guest coverage stronger.
