Wonderful Lake Como wedding
If you don’t hear from me for a while, that means I’m busy. Busy shooting weddings, of course. So here’s one I’d love to share with you. Meet Kitri and Garrett at their wedding in Lake Como in Italy. Lake Como is a very scenic place. Look right, you have a lake, look left, you have a selection of Villas and Mountains in the back. As always, this part of the world never fails to give me the perfect environment for wedding photography. I love everything about this place. So Kitri and Garrett had the wedding ceremony at Villa Carlotta and a little party at Grand Hotel Tremezzo. The weather was perfect, the couple was beautiful, and the food was delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer, but as always, I had to rush back home to my family.
If you’re looking for something different from the regular church-ceremony-reception locations you should consider Villa Carlotta and Grand Hotel Tremezzo. The combination of these two venues is simply magnificent. The scenery is so gorgeous that everything else is almost unnecessary. You can just sit there and watch the waterfalls and mountains go by while you sip on some champagne (or maybe a cappuccino). It’s breathtakingly beautiful!
My favorite part of the day was the boat ride with amazing Riva boats though. The scenery was even more beautiful from the lake and the water was so clear you could see all the fish and water plants. I still can’t get over how good it looks!
The ceremony was short and sweet but it added a lot to the pictures. Kitri and Garrett were a little bit nervous but we managed to get some great shots of them together. The reception was at Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which is a five-star hotel with amazing food and service. The food here is just incredible! I loved every bite of it, especially their beef tenderloin with truffle sauce (I had seconds).
Kitri’s dress looked gorgeous on her, as always! It fit her personality nicely. It’s hard to explain but it worked out perfectly for her because she has such a strong personality!
In conclusion, the location was perfect, the weather was perfect, and most importantly the people were perfect. It doesn’t get much better than that! They look good, they sound good and it feels special being in one of them.
What else, yes, the photographs – please enjoy a short selection here.

Villa Carlotta wedding ceremony
Kitri and Garrett have decided to have their wedding ceremony in Villa Carlotta. Villa Carlotta with its stunning view over the lake Como is an exquisite place to hold a wedding ceremony. Villa Carlotta today serves as a botanical garden and museum. But originally Villa was built in 1745 for The Clerici family. This family gained their wealth trading silk and after one of their son Carlo became a President of the Senate. Villa Carlotta was then bought by the Italian state for its historical and cultural value. The building is an example of Italian Baroque architecture. The entrance to Villa Carlotta is from the main road that leads to the building.
The inside of Villa Carlotta has a magnificent hall with a beautiful ceiling decorated with frescos depicting birds and flowers. On one side of this hall, there are stairs leading to the second floor. From this floor, there is access to a terrace on which there are two more rooms that are used for exhibitions and conferences on natural history, horticulture, and botany. At the end of this hall, there is another door that leads to a garden containing rare plants and trees from all over the world, which have been collected by the Botanical Society of Como since 1842. The garden also contains an orangery, an aviary, a greenhouse, a laboratory, and other facilities for scientific research related to botany.
How do I book a Riva boat in Lake Como?
Depending on where you want to begin your boat ride, you may rent a Riva boat through a hotel or other providers.
Some providers will allow you to book a private cruise, which is a great way to experience the Lake Como at your own pace. You can dine on board the boat, or opt for pick-up from your hotel. Some tours may include a stop at the Bellagio, while others may be more nature-based. It all depends on what you’re looking for. Most tours last between 3 and 4 hours and can accommodate up to 9 passengers, so you won’t be cramped with other travelers.
How much is it to rent a private Riva boat on Lake Como?
Rental prices for a private boat on Lake Como range from 50 to 250 EUR per hour, depending on the company, vessel, and other factors.
What to expect on a Riva boat ride?
The boat ride is about 30 minutes- to 6 hours long. You’ll be taken out to the middle of the lake, around the lake, and then back. The ride is smooth, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you are prone to sea sickness. Riva boat, I love everything about them, the looks, the sound, the feel. As a Lake Como wedding photographer, I can admit that this boat ride was my favorite part of the wedding. Evening light is so perfect for photographs. And the boat is so elegant. I wish I could have one myself. I watched an old documentary about those times when legendary Riva boats were built. A true piece of art. Even today renovated Riva boat costs about EUR 100K.
Whenever I go there with a Riva boat the driver always recommends visiting the special place which is always the same. I still like going there as it is kind of special. This is the hidden Nesso waterfall. I shot there one of my best wedding photos.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo wedding
Approaching Grand Hotel Tremezzo where bride and groom had their wedding reception. Grand Hotel Tremezzo dates back to 1910 when it was built as a hotel of Belle Epoque. Kitri and Garrett had a small and intimate wedding dinner there having only the closest family members there but still, it was something that we enjoyed very much. It was something unique because it has been converted into a hotel only in 2002.
The restaurant is famous for its panoramic view of Lake Como, and the couple wanted to have their guests enjoy a dinner with a view. The wedding dinner was a sit-down dinner. The couple wanted guests to enjoy a dinner with a view. The location of the wedding dinner was in the Grand Hotel Tremezzo restaurant. The dinner turned out to be very nice and romantic with candles on the tables and Italian music playing in the background.
