Wedding Photographer In France — Paris, Provence & The Riviera
I’m Janis, a destination wedding photographer working across France for couples who want honest storytelling, beautiful light, and photos that still look good in twenty years. Paris rooftops, Provençal villages, French Riviera villas, Loire Valley châteaux — I’ve photographed them all.
Based in Europe, photographing destination weddings across France for couples from the UK, US, Europe and Asia.
France wedding destinations I photograph most
France is not “one” look. Paris is structured and elegant, Provence is soft and slow, the Riviera is bright and salty, the Loire Valley is all château drama. Below are my core hubs in France — each card links to a dedicated page with more images, tips, and full galleries.
Paris — rooftops, museums & hotel weddings
Sunrise portraits near the Eiffel Tower, chic hotel ceremonies at George V, Musée Rodin gardens, quiet streets in the Marais — Paris rewards couples who love architecture, clean lines and a bit of old-world glamour.
South of France — vineyards, beaches & slow evenings
Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, Saint-Tropez — the South of France is made for warm evenings, outdoor dinners, seaside ceremonies and long, unhurried wedding weekends.
French Riviera — villas, sea views & cliffside light
Nice, Cannes, Èze, Cap-Ferrat, Monaco — the Riviera is where elegant villas meet bright Mediterranean light. Perfect for poolside cocktails, balcony portraits and sea-view ceremonies.
Provence — lavender fields & stone villages
Think sun-washed courtyards, olive trees, lavender, and slow summer evenings. Provence is for couples who like the idea of a countryside estate with world-class food and very relaxed guests.
Loire Valley — château weddings & French gardens
Château Challain, Château de la Lude, Château de Grand-Lucé — the Loire Valley is where the word “fairytale” actually fits. Grand staircases, mirrored salons, and long garden walks.
Planning a destination wedding anywhere in France
Flying in from abroad? I regularly photograph weddings for couples from the UK, US and Asia who are planning from a distance and need someone calm, experienced and honest with them about timelines, light and logistics.
France in frames
A small glimpse of how France looks through my cameras — from Paris museums and Bordeaux vineyards to château gardens and late-evening dance floors. The full stories live inside each wedding, but this is where it starts.
Where I photograph weddings in France
I work across France — from busy Paris streets to quiet villages where the loudest thing you’ll hear is a dinner toast. Each region needs a slightly different approach: the light is different, the schedules are different, and the logistics are definitely different.
Over the years I’ve photographed multi-day château weddings, small elopements, vineyard ceremonies, beach celebrations and pre-wedding sessions for couples who just wanted to disappear into France for a few days.
- Paris — elopements, hotel weddings, rooftops, museums and sunrise sessions.
- Provence — lavender season, estate weddings, late-evening ceremonies.
- French Riviera — villas, sea-view terraces, poolside receptions.
- South of France — vineyards, old towns, beach clubs, long weekend celebrations.
- Loire Valley — château weddings with formal dinners and long garden walks.
- Bordeaux, Champagne & Charente — vineyards, countryside estates and quiet, refined weddings.
Planning a wedding in France — quick, honest guide
France is incredibly photogenic, but it’s not always “easy”. Light can be harsh, summers are hot, and Google Maps lies about how long it takes to get between a hilltop village and a vineyard. This is where someone who knows the country well becomes useful.
I help couples with realistic timelines, best portrait times, backup ideas if it rains, and how to balance portraits with actually enjoying time with your guests.
- Light: Paris works best early morning or late evening. Provence and the South of France shine at golden hour. Midday is for shade and champagne.
- Weather: Spring and autumn bring softer light and fewer crowds. Summer is great for parties — we just work around the heat.
- Locations: Rooftops, vineyards, courtyards, beaches — each needs a different plan. I’ll help you choose spots that match your style and schedule.
- Language & logistics: I work well with French planners, venues and vendors, and keep communication simple for you.
I’m happy to jump on a call with you and your planner to help shape a realistic photo timeline for your day in France.

France wedding photographer — FAQ
A few straight answers to questions couples ask most often. If you don’t see your question here, just send me a message — I’m quick to reply.
How far in advance should we book you for a wedding in France? +
Popular dates are usually booked 12–18 months in advance, especially for summer and for places like Paris, Provence and the Riviera. It’s always worth asking — sometimes I’m available sooner.
Do you charge extra travel fees within France? +
For most France weddings, my travel and accommodation are included in the quote. I prefer simple, all-in pricing so you know exactly where you stand from the start.
We’re camera-shy. Can you help us feel comfortable? +
Absolutely. Most of my couples are not models — they are normal humans who think they are “awkward”. I guide you just enough, keep things moving, and let real reactions happen. You’ll forget about the camera faster than you think.
Do you photograph both big château weddings and small elopements? +
Yes. I photograph everything from two-person Paris elopements to multi-day château celebrations with hundreds of guests. The approach is always the same: honest storytelling, good light, and respect for the atmosphere of the day.
Do you offer pre-wedding or engagement shoots in France? +
Yes, often in Paris, the South of France, Provence or the Riviera. Many couples fly in for a few days just for a pre-wedding session, especially from the UK and Asia. We plan locations, outfits and timings together.
How many photos will we receive from our France wedding? +
It depends on the hours of coverage and the pace of your day, but a typical full-day France wedding results in around 600–900 carefully edited images.
Do you deliver colour and black-and-white photos? +
Yes. Most images are in colour, but some frames naturally work better in black-and-white — especially emotional or high-contrast moments. You’ll receive a balanced mix that fits the story of your day.
Can you recommend wedding planners and vendors in France? +
I regularly work with experienced planners, florists, videographers and other vendors across France. Once I know your region and style, I’m happy to suggest trusted people I’ve seen do great work.
What is your photography style for France weddings? +
Timeless, clean and cinematic. I mix documentary coverage — real moments, real expressions — with gentle, editorial-style portraits. No heavy filters, no trends that will age your photos too quickly.
How do we book you as our France wedding photographer? +
Send me a message through the contact form, share your date, location and a few details about your plans, and I’ll reply with availability and a quote. If it feels like a good fit, we set everything up in writing and your date is locked in.
