Laura and Adam at Four Seasons Florence
Laura and Adam brought their friends and family to Florence for a wedding that felt elegant without becoming formal for the sake of it. Their ceremony took place in the hotel garden, followed by a short portrait session in Florence and a return to Four Seasons for dinner and the evening reception.
Laura is also a make-up artist, and on the wedding morning she did her own make-up as well as her bridesmaids’ make-up.

Preparations inside Four Seasons Hotel Firenze
The morning had the kind of pace I like on a wedding day: enough happening to create energy, but not so much that every moment had to be manufactured for the camera.
The hotel interiors gave the preparation photographs a very different character from the garden and Florence sequences later in the day.

A Four Seasons Florence wedding ceremony outdoors
Laura and Adam exchanged vows in the garden at Four Seasons Florence. The greenery, fountain and historic hotel architecture became part of the photographs without needing a separate styled set.

A short portrait session before returning for dinner
After the ceremony we left the hotel for a short portrait session in Florence. I prefer this kind of city session to stay concise. The aim is to add Florence to the story, not remove the couple from their own wedding for hours.
We then returned to Four Seasons, where the reception spaces had been prepared for dinner and the evening celebration.

White flowers, candlelight, cake and live music
Dinner was set with white flowers, glass chandeliers and white table linen. Laura and Adam chose an elaborate layered wedding cake, and the celebration continued into the ballroom with a live band.
This is the part of the day where the photographs move away from the architecture and become almost entirely about people: speeches, reactions, dancing and the energy between the couple and their guests.
