A black-and-white wedding at Château de Challain
Amber and John chose Château de Challain for a destination wedding with a strong black-and-white visual identity. Bridesmaids and attendants wore black, while white flowers and small gold details kept the design elegant rather than overly themed.
The château, gardens and surrounding Loire Valley countryside gave the wedding a romantic French setting while the graphic styling made the photographs feel distinctive.

Ceremony, emotion and portraits
The strongest part of the day was not the colour scheme but the people. From the first look and ceremony to family reactions and portraits, I photographed the wedding primarily as it happened rather than building the day around posed photographs.
For the couple portraits we used the château architecture and grounds, keeping the sessions short so Amber and John could spend most of the celebration with their guests.

Dinner and the evening celebration
The black-and-white styling continued through the table design, flowers and cake, while speeches, dinner and dancing shifted the gallery from formal details into a much looser evening story.
As daylight disappeared, the photographs relied more on the atmosphere inside the château and the energy of the celebration rather than trying to preserve the look of daytime portraits.

Photographing weddings at Château de Challain
Château de Challain works well photographically because the preparation rooms, ceremony spaces, gardens, architecture and evening reception can all become part of one coherent story without spending the wedding day travelling between locations.
