A morning at Château du Lude
Sunshine and Dinan’s wedding began in the château and gardens, with soft morning light and a calm portrait of the bride carrying a single white rose. Preparations then continued in separate rooms, allowing both sides of the day to be photographed before the ceremony.
Château du Lude combines historic interiors, formal gardens and the feeling of a lived-in family residence. Those layers give the gallery variety, but the photographs stay tied to the couple and their guests rather than becoming an architectural survey.
Details from the rooms and grounds establish the setting, while anticipation, family exchanges and the movement towards the ceremony carry the story forward.
02
The garden ceremony and portraits
The ceremony took place in the gardens. Open space allowed the guest reactions and setting to be photographed together, while closer positions kept the vows and expressions clear.
Portraits used the château architecture and gardens without taking Sunshine and Dinan away for too long. The evening sun added a warmer second look later in the day, so one long portrait session was unnecessary.
The strongest sequence combines the formal scale of the venue with relaxed movement between events. That balance is central to photographing a château wedding naturally.
03
Dinner, fireworks and the first dance
Champagne, dinner and cake cutting moved the celebration indoors and into the evening. Speeches and guest reactions provide the link between the quieter portraits and the final party.
Fireworks lit the grounds before the first dance. Sunshine changed into a gold sequin dress, giving the dance-floor photographs a distinct visual finish to the day.
The final gallery follows the wedding from calm preparations to ceremony, portraits, dinner and celebration, keeping the historic setting present without losing the people inside it.

How I would plan the photography here
The most useful photography plan for Loire Valley protects the real flow of the celebration first. Portraits are kept short and placed where the light and movement already make sense.
For destination weddings, I also look at travel between venues, access, the ceremony direction, indoor alternatives and whether a second photographer would make the guest coverage stronger.
