Westminster & the Thames
Big Ben, Westminster Bridge and the river give you unmistakable London without needing a long route. Early morning is usually the cleanest option when the streets matter as much as the landmarks.

How I approach it
You do not need to spend the session racing between every famous landmark. A smaller route gives us more time to react to the light, the streets and the way you naturally move together.
I help with timing, locations and how much travel is realistic. Some couples want one neighbourhood and a park. Others want classic London architecture first and a more relaxed second location later. Both can work.
If you are travelling to London and want a more extensive session, see my London pre-wedding photography page. For route planning, start with the London pre-wedding locations guide.
Choosing the route
The best route depends on whether you want iconic London, quieter streets, greenery or a mixture of all three.
Big Ben, Westminster Bridge and the river give you unmistakable London without needing a long route. Early morning is usually the cleanest option when the streets matter as much as the landmarks.
St Paul’s, Millennium Bridge and the Thames work well when you want stronger architecture and a more graphic city look. The route can stay compact and still feel varied.
Colour, quieter streets, townhouses and small details make West London useful when you want something softer than the postcard landmarks.
Parks are useful for a slower second half of the session. They give movement, space and a completely different rhythm from the city streets.
Planning
Classic landmarks, quiet streets, parks, hotel interiors or something more urban. That decision matters more than trying to fit every possible location into the day.
Early mornings help around Westminster and the bridges. A later session can work well when the route finishes with softer evening light or city lights.
The strongest frames are often between the planned locations: crossing a street, stopping for coffee, waiting for a bus or simply walking without being directed every few seconds.
What to wear
Coordinated colours usually work better than matching outfits. If you want variety, bring one relaxed look and one more formal option. Layers are useful in London because the weather can change quickly and they also give the photographs more texture.
Comfortable shoes matter if the route includes several streets or a park. You can always carry a second pair for the more formal frames.
How the session works
Before the session, we decide what you want the photographs to feel like and choose a route that supports that mood. I will explain where we need to be for the light, how much walking is realistic and where we can pause without making the session feel staged.
During the shoot I give simple prompts rather than asking you to hold a series of fixed poses. Walking, talking, waiting for a crossing or stopping for a coffee can all become part of the photographs when the route leaves enough space for them.
You receive a carefully edited high-resolution gallery. The aim is a set of photographs that feels connected to your time in London and useful for save-the-dates, a wedding website, an album or simply keeping this part of your story.
A useful starting point
Westminster, the City, Chelsea, Notting Hill, Hyde Park and Kensington can all work well, but they do not need to be combined in one short session. A focused route gives us better light, fewer transfers and more time for photographs that feel unhurried.
If you are visiting London for only a few days, tell me where you are staying and what kind of atmosphere you prefer. I can recommend a route that fits the time available and keeps the session enjoyable.
Pricing
Tell me the date, the part of London you like and whether you want one simple area or a longer route. I will suggest a practical plan rather than adding locations just to make the itinerary longer.

Questions
London engagement photography starts from £1500. I plan the route with you before the session and the finished photographs are delivered as a fully edited high-resolution gallery.
Early morning and weekdays are usually easiest around the busiest landmarks. Sunset can also work well when the route is planned around where the light will actually be rather than trying to cross the whole city.
Yes. The important part is keeping the route realistic. Two or three strong areas usually photograph better than spending half the session travelling between too many landmarks.
An engagement session is usually simpler and more relaxed. A pre-wedding shoot can be more production-led, with several outfits, a longer route and more planning around locations and light.
