Pre-wedding photographer in Switzerland
Editorial Pre-Wedding Photography In The Swiss Alps
Alpine lakes at sunrise, snow and spring flowers in the same frame, narrow village streets and cable cars above the clouds. I photograph wedding and engagement sessions all across Switzerland, from Lake Lucerne and Geneva to Zermatt, Grindelwald and the Engadin.
18+ years, 600+ weddings and pre-weddings across Europe – including countless trips to Switzerland for winter, spring and autumn shoots.
Based in London, travelling regularly to Zurich, Geneva, Zermatt, Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lucerne and the Engadin.
Why Switzerland works so well for pre-wedding photos
Switzerland is one of the few places where you can photograph snow, lakes, forests and old towns in the same day. Morning on a mountain pass, lunch by the lake, evening in a small village or city like Lucerne or Geneva – the variety makes it perfect for couples who want a full story rather than just one location.
I usually suggest building your pre-wedding around two or three contrasting locations that still fit your travel plans: one “big view” (mountains or lake), one village or town, and one quiet corner where we can slow down and photograph just the two of you without anyone around.
Switzerland signature pre-wedding locations
These are some of the places I return to again and again for pre-wedding shoots – a mix of lakes, villages and high mountain viewpoints. I’ve included links to official tourism pages so you can explore travel options and practical details while we plan your session.

How a Switzerland pre-wedding usually works
Every couple is different, but most Switzerland pre-wedding shoots follow a similar structure. Here is the typical flow we use to turn your ideas into a realistic, stress-free plan.
Short call & ideas
You tell me your dates, preferred regions and what you imagine: snow, lakes, forests, a specific town or a surprise proposal.
- We discuss season, light and travel logistics.
- I suggest 2–3 location combinations that fit your dates.
Location & timeline planning
Once we choose your main region, I build a timeline around cable cars, train times and the best light.
- We decide where to start and finish the shoot.
- You receive a clear plan with meeting points and backup ideas.
Shoot day – relaxed adventure
On the day we move like locals – trains, short hikes, cable cars or boats – keeping things relaxed and un-rushed.
- Plenty of time for outfit changes and warm-up breaks.
- Natural posing with gentle direction, not stiff posing.
Delivery & album options
You receive a curated online gallery with high-resolution images and a highlight slideshow. Albums and prints are optional.
- Typical delivery within 4–6 weeks.
- Design service for fine-art albums if you wish.
How much does a pre-wedding photoshoot in Switzerland cost?
Pricing depends mainly on how long we shoot, how remote the locations are and how involved the logistics are. A shorter Lake Lucerne session is one level; a four-hour Alpine adventure with trains and cable cars is another.
As a guide, most couples invest in a half-day or full-day collection which covers planning time, photography, post-production and a curated online gallery with full-resolution files. Share your dates, preferred region and the type of day you imagine and I will send a clear quote with options.

Switzerland Pre-Wedding – Frequently Asked Questions
A few of the questions couples usually ask when they start planning a pre-wedding photoshoot in the Swiss Alps. If you do not see your question here, you can always ask me directly.

What are the best months for a pre-wedding in Switzerland?
Late April to early June and September to early November usually work best for a mix of stable weather and softer light. Mid-winter is perfect if you specifically want snow; July and August are possible but can be busy around the most famous viewpoints.
Can we combine cities and mountains in one day?
Yes, as long as the travel time is realistic. A Lucerne plus Rigi day, Geneva plus vineyards, or Grindelwald plus First cable car are all common combinations. For longer distances we can plan a two-day shoot with different regions.
Do we need to be good hikers?
Not necessarily. Many locations are reachable by train, cable car or short walks. If you love hiking we can of course plan something more adventurous, but there are plenty of beautiful viewpoints that require very little effort.
Do you help with permits and local logistics?
Yes. Some spots are simple, others require more planning, especially if we are using cable cars, private locations or planning around winter closures. I am happy to advise on routes, tickets and realistic timing so everything feels smooth on the day.
If you are planning a Switzerland pre-wedding and want photographs that feel cinematic, natural and honest, I would be happy to hear from you. Whether you imagine snow and mountains, quiet lakes or a mix of both, we can design a day that fits your travel plans and your energy.
Share a few details about your dates, regions and any must-see locations and I will reply with ideas and a tailored quote. Email me to check my availability for your dates.
