Summer wedding in Chateau Challain France
Hello everyone! Oh yes, it’s a real Midsummer’s night dream for Anna and Levi and their Chateau wedding in France. Three days and three amazing stories to tell. Each and every one of them was the perfect material for a wedding photographer and here is one of them.
Anna and Levi came from Norway. Their biggest desire was to have a Fairytale wedding in french chateau and Chateau de Challain went the extra mile as always to get their dream come true. See the unicorns and fairies and hot air balloons and amazing florals by David Kimmel design – it all comes together in this wonderful set of photographs – enjoy it here and leave your comments below.

Midsummer’s night dream wedding. The waking up part
Yes, that’s right I started my day in the bedroom of the groom. He was waking up like a real king, with a crown on his head. Well, he was a bit pretending. Levi was so natural in his role that I not even for a second didn’t doubt that he is a real king, well at least for today. I imagine that sleeping with a crown on your head is not very comfy.
Look at this stunning bride’s bouquet made by David Kimmel Design. This florist is located in USA. With their customised couture design they are recognised world wide. I’ve seen a couple of their work and I must say that I was impressed. Good work guys!
Anna and Levi had a religious wedding ceremony in the church just next to the Chateau. Again I must emphasise the stunning floral decorations. I wonder how much time did it take to make this floral arch of the altar. Every flower looked freshly cut in the garden.
Church wedding ceremony in France
This was a view from the other side of the altar. I like capturing different angles for a bigger picture, so I was lucky that I was allowed to move in this church. Previously in UK I had an experience that the priest forbids me to move or even only make one shot during wedding ceremony. But hey, different places, different rules, right? So, I as a wedding photographer suggest you before getting married in church explore all the rules and inform all the vendors involved.
After a quick cocktail hour bride and groom hopped in the hot air balloon to chill a bit and make some photographs. I always wanted to shoot a hot balloon elopement.
Outdoor wedding reception in France
Let me introduce you to Bride’s darling dog. This fella broke his paw just right before the wedding day, but he was lucky to join the wedding though. I hope he tried a bit of those mouth- watering french foods that was served on the wedding day. I know it was very important for him.
Wedding dinner took place under perfectly decorated tree.in the magical gardens of Chateau de Challain. Wedding tables had an explosion of flower decorations on top. I love how chandeliers were hanging in the branches and the sound they made when the light summer breath touched them. Like a perfect music of wind chimes. Every guest had a unique painted plate with a small flower fairy on it. Look at those night photographs below, tables look even better in the dark.
For a photoshoot we didn’t go outside the estate, because there were plenty of places to make photos. For example, this outdoor flower bed was made specially for wedding photographs and I wonder if it would be possible to sleep in it during the night or it would turn into a big plate for bugs. But no one tried it, so I will never know.
Have you ever seen a Unicorn in a wedding?
So, when I thought I have seen it all suddenly a Unicorn appeared. This came to me as a surprise. I have never been to a unicorn wedding. Have you? Actually I will tell you a secret it was just a white horse with a cone, but don’t tell anyone. And where there are unicorns there are elves and fairies naturally. Check the photographs below, there are lots and lots to see because this wasn’t an ordinary wedding. This was a one of a kind wedding where everything is possible. Or maybe I wasn’t there, it was just my midsummer dream. Please leave a comment if you see what I see.
