2018 in Review – my favourite wedding photographs of the year
I’m pleased to share my favourite wedding photos of 2018. It’s been an amazing year and this is the result! I’d like to thank all my clients for trusting me with the responsible task of being your wedding photographer. Most of the weddings were done in France, England, Italy and Spain. Please see the photos below to see what I’ve been up to, I’ve added captions below some of the photos so that you can understand what I see in them.
I’d also like to thank my wife and retoucher Inese for her magical touch when it comes to color grading and touching up the photos, you’ve done a stellar work, as always!
Enjoy the photographs below and I’m looking forward to new weddings, new destinations and new challenges for 2019. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, please get in touch through my contact form.
Love this twilight shot, while guests were sitting down for the dinner, we were out in the lake taking photographs. You can see that I’ve been shooting more in the dark than before, must be because of the new equipment I’ve aquired for this season. I’m shooting with Nikon D850 cameras that are fabulous machines for low light photography.Love the forest covered in flowers, this location was a total surprise to me, but very seasonal for locals. France keeps surprising me.Love how energetic this shot is, a hot summer wedding in Italy.A late summer evening in England. A wedding in Babington house. The couple, decorated tree and light works magic here.Katy and Will, a couple from USA at their destination wedding in France. An engagement photoshoot in Paris – Dani and Brad from USA.The lens has done it’s magic here.A late-night shot overlooking vineyards and the Mediterranean in Sicily. If you look at the horizon, you can see the Stromboli volcano in the background. It’s an active volcano smoking in the back.King Levi at his Chateau wedding in France. This was a very special wedding. You get them now and then when people want “everything different”. A crazy day planned by Chateau de Challain. See the full set of this wedding here: Juicy chateau wedding in FranceFlower design by Ci Ci Events and David Kimmel design. This looks like a speech to me. I can’t read Mandarin.Sara and Kieran true Londoners at their destination wedding in SpainSo yes, it’s not just tears and crying in the ceremony, I aim to catch some laughter as well. I don’t have a clue what they’re laughing about, as I said, I don’t speak Mandarin. I look for emotions when I press the button, that’s it.Writing a love letter to her groom. The chapel of Babington house. It was very narrow and closed but in the same time made the ceremony intimate, liked it a lot.The flower girl is so pretty here!A beautiful event designed by Atom Events in Italy. See that volcano in the background! The old ruins in Marthon. You can see the rooftops of all buildings in the town from there. I recommend visiting the place in the evening when the sun is lower. A truly beautiful view.Chateau Challain, still my favorite wedding venue in France. Majestic any day, any time. And yo can arrange everything for the photoshoot there – need a boat? got a boat. Need a torch? Got a torch. Need a twilight? well, you’ll have to wait for that.Curiosity drives the world. Now that’s a beautiful cake and setting.
A destination wedding in France, a couple from the USA having their wedding at Chateau de la Couronne. See the full set of this wedding here: A Must See French Chateau Wedding
Katy at Chateau de la Couronne. So who invited the Unicorn? There’s something about confetti shots I enjoy so much. Must be the joy of others.A beautiful Rolls, somewhere in Peak District. I had a Fiat 500 as a rental on that day, not sure which one I’d prefer. The beautiful flower girl.I arrived too early for this wedding in France, the groom is still in the pool. I like the mood of the picture.A beautiful couple and beautiful light, what else do you need?A winter elopement with an evening photoshoot in Paris. It was properly cold that night, but we were all cool with that. Some more night shots from London. Love how empty the city is after 10pm.A glass of whiskey before the ceremony. A gay wedding in France. The forest of flowers, not telling where 🙂 But I can tell you when – it’s not spring, some time in September or early October. The mighty Stromboli.Guys getting ready. This was a big ask getting them out of the shadow, well worth it.I’m really proud of this moment I caught. It was a windy day and the pastor had trouble lighting his lighter/seal, so the wedding party gathered around to protect the flame.Gatsby themed rehearsal dinner. Should have shot this on film.Yep, he ain’t sitting on the grass. This dog was just everywhere. He had a recently broken leg, but he was still fast.
A beautiful wedding cake, love how flowers look on it.
Something from a Venetian carnival.
Rain is not always bad!
This could be taken anywhere, but it’s a narrow street in Chelsea, London, near the place I used to live.
A perfect evening in Salina, Italy. Can’t wait to go back there.
Ruined my pants in this one, but it was well worth it.
Luxembourg Garden in Paris. Be careful here when shooting, don’t get on the grass, the police will get to you right away.

Back to London for this one, a wonderful evening with London’s skyline in the back.
The view from my hotel window. Kind of caught the moment, it felt special.

A touch of a fairy tale at Chateau Challain.
