Wedding in Italy: Elegant Celebration at Villa Erba on Lake Como
Perched on the picturesque shores of Lake Como in Northern Italy, Villa Erba—a magnificent neoclassical estate steeped in history—served as the enchanting backdrop for Catherine and Christophe’s Persian wedding. With breathtaking views of the lake and exquisitely landscaped gardens, the Villa was the perfect venue for their celebration, accommodating up to 400 guests.
At the core of the ceremony was the “sofreh aghd,” an intricately adorned arrangement set up in the garden. This traditional Persian display, rich in symbolism, reflected the couple’s deep ties to their families and each other. It was filled with fruits, nuts, and significant items from both families, often featuring a design resembling a family tree or heart to enhance its personal significance. Special stones placed for the bride and groom symbolized their unique connection. After the emotional ceremony, the Villa transformed into a vibrant party space, where the couple and their guests celebrated their love through joyous dancing throughout the night.
