Chateau de Challain wedding photographer in France
Welcome to the amazing lilac spring wedding of Jin Jin and Ethan. This is a recent wedding I shot as a wedding photographer in France. Jin Jin and Ethan come from Shanghai, China and they had a dream of having a destination wedding, so they chose to have a fairy tale wedding at the Chateau de Challain in France. Located in the heart of Loire Valley, Chateau Challain was the perfect choice for the wedding with it’s early spring and predictable weather of this time of the year.
Lilac inspired Wedding photography
Lilac and lavender inspired weddings has been very popular for many years. What is not to love about those gorgeous looking flowers and also they smell so divine. And nothing says more spring than lilacs, right?
Did you know that Lilacs originated in Southeast Europe and are a very popular part of Mediterranean culture? They symbolise spring and renewal. And Lilacs belong to the same family as the olive tree.

Lilac wedding decor
Jin Jin and Ethan had an outdoor wedding in the main garden of the Chateau de Challain. The wedding gazebo was decorated with matching floral decors made from purple roses, tulips and lilacs. Purple chair covers.

I like how I caught this one!
Few tears of happiness and off to cocktails!
Love this bluebell forest – if you want to see or shoot in it, it’s got to be April. Blue bells perfectly complemented the purple wedding palette range. It almost seemed that they where there on purpose.
As a wedding photographer I always look for the great light, and here it was.
This bridal veil was unimaginably beautiful, made from very soft fabric it fitted perfectly. Check photos below how amazing it looks during the photoshoot in the field.Early evening light of the French spring, amazing.
Love this low angle photograph and the veil!
Look at those table floral decors. They complement purple lilac style. Single tulip lying on every plate. And add that amazing lilac smell to all of that and you will love this wedding as much as I did.
Have you seen purple Croquembouche decorated with lilacs? This traditional french wedding cake was the most perfect Croquembouche I have ever seen.
Even fireworks was in matching lilac theme. Every smallest detail of this Lilac wedding was perfectly planned through.
Thank you guys for having me as your wedding photographer in France. I’ll always remember it as both of you where absolute stars and this made the perfect start of the season for me. I wish you all the best in your lives together.
